Why The Whisky Index exists.
Our founder has spent time working in the whisky market, and started The Whisky Index as an honest, transparent alternative to the way casks are usually sold.
Cask sales have a reputation problem: opaque pricing, unverifiable claims, and no easy way for a buyer to check what's actually true about a cask before paying for it. The Whisky Index exists to fix that — real records, real evidence, and a clear line between what we know and what we don't.
What that means in practice
- Every cask's real details, or an honest gap. We show what's genuinely recorded — never a plausible-sounding guess standing in for a field we don't actually have.
- The full price, upfront. Nothing added at checkout.
- No investment promises. We don't tell anyone which cask will rise in value, because nobody genuinely knows that in advance.
